AMARAVATI,
October 21, 2026 — Larsen & Toubro (L&T)
has secured an order from the Government of Andhra Pradesh to build two office
towers beside the Amaravati Quantum Computing Centre, adding a major
construction project to the state capital’s planned technology district.
The towers are planned on either side of
the centre. Each is configured with a basement, ground floor and 47 upper
floors, and together they will cover 37.5 lakh square feet, L&T said in its
announcement.
The company did not disclose the value of
the Andhra Pradesh contract separately. L&T described its latest wins as
“large orders,” a category covering more than one project in the announcement.
That combined classification should not be treated as the Amaravati project’s
value alone.

Offices planned alongside quantum infrastructure
The towers are part of the broader
development around Amaravati’s Quantum Computing Centre. Andhra Pradesh has
been working with industry partners to establish a quantum technology hub in
the capital, with the centre intended to anchor research and technology
activity.
L&T’s announcement confirms the towers’
location, configuration and combined built-up area. It does not specify
prospective occupants or a tenant pipeline. The project’s eventual economic
impact will depend on construction delivery and on whether research
organisations, technology companies and other businesses establish operations
there.

A construction milestone, with execution still ahead
The project links large-scale commercial
construction with the state’s plans for a quantum technology ecosystem. But a
construction order is an infrastructure milestone, not proof that a fully
operating technology cluster or a specific number of jobs has already been
created.
For Amaravati, the next indicators to watch
are construction progress, the quantum centre’s readiness, and announcements
about research, technology and office-space users. Those details will help show
whether the twin towers become part of an active innovation district.
